Keypad Doors Manual

This is a collection of lockable horizontally sliding doors which can be locked with a numerical key code operated via a low prim keypad. There are 2 codes, the access code for opening the doors, and a staff code for changing the access code. The owner can always open the doors or change the access code. Only the owner can change the staff code.

Multiple doors can be linked to a link-set without them interfering with one another. See instructions below for link instructions.

ACCESS CONTROL KEYPAD

Control of the doors is done via the keypad mounted on the door frame. The keypad operates in one of two modes, unsecured and secured mode. The keypad operates in unsecured mode when there is no access code set allowing any one to open and close the doors. The keypad operates in secured mode when there is an access code set and the door can only be opened by authorize users by entering the correct access code. When in secured mode any one can close the doors.

The 2 colored buttons (green on the left red on the right) at the bottom of the keypad on either side of the zero key are the action buttons. The green button opens the door/s, if authorized, and the red button closes the doors.

The buttons along the right side edge (Cancel, Clear, Enter, White) are used only in setting the access and staff codes. Buttons are:

  • CANCEL = Cancels all input and returns the keypad to idle.
  • CLEAR = Clears the code display. Will show _____ in hover text to indicate that no code is entered.
  • ENTER = Process the entered code and checks for access. Will display GRANTED or DENIED depending on result.
  • WHITE = The white button at the bottom right is used to record the general access code.

The keypads operate in unsecured mode when no access password is set and any one can touch the red or green button to use the controls.

LINKING DOORS TO BUILD

Multiple doors or door sets can be linked to the same object or link set without interfering with each other.

Make sure each door prim in the door set and the keypad all have the same name. Each door set should have its own unique name.

EXAMPLE:
                Front Door

                Back Door

Both sets can be linked together and when some one uses the keypad to open the "Front Door" the "Back Door" will not be triggered and vice verse.

NOTE: You can have more than 1 keypad per door or door set and each keypad can have its own unique access and staff codes and still operate the doors.

AUTOCLOSE TIMER

Each door comes with a 30 second automatic close timer script located within the keypad prim. To change the time the door will stay open before closing automatically simply rename the Autoclose note-card changing the number at the end to the time you want the doors to
remain open in seconds. Do do this follow theses steps:

  1. Right click on the door set and select "Edit" from the pie menu.
  2. Place a check mark in the box by "Edit linked parts" by clicking on the box.
  3. Touch the keypad prim to select just that prim.
  4. In the edit window select the "Contents" tab.
  5. Select and right click on the Autoclose notecard and select "Rename" from the pop-up menu.
  6. Change the number at the end of the note-card's name to the desired time in seconds and hit return.
  7. Close the edit window.

DO NOT change anything else about the note-card's name. The name must start with "Autoclose" followed by a space and a number. If the note-card dose not start with Autoclose the timer script will not be able to find it and the timer will not be triggered when the doors are opened. The timer script and note-card may be placed in any prim in the build, however that prim MUST be named exactly the same as the door prims to be controlled by the script.
